Dentistry is a challenging profession. Most of us are intimidated with the idea of getting dental work done. Specializing in pediatric dentistry is even more challenging. I don’t consider myself a challenge seeker, but I enjoy being a pediatric dentist because it gives me the opportunity to positively influence children’s perception of oral heath.

My goal is to instill the importance of oral health care to my patients early on and to ensure that dental visits are always fun for both parents and their children. To me, every patient’s teeth are works of art. I set a high standard for myself and strive to provide the highest level of dental care for each patient. Understanding that dental visits can be intimidating for young children, providing compassionate care and a comfortable experience are always priorities for me.

Education & Continuing Education

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest where I attended Washington State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Growing up, painting and drawing were a prominent part of his life. However, I was attracted to a career in healthcare very early on. I pursued dental school knowing that dentistry is a form of art where my artistic talent and dexterous manual skills can be utilized on a daily basis to improve lives.

I completed dental training and obtained a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from SUNY Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine with multiple esthetic and restorative dentistry awards.
Upon graduating from dental school, I completed a General Practice Residency to advance my clinical skills at Stony Brook University Hospital. During this time, I went on an oversea volunteer dental mission with Operation Smile and realized my true calling was to work with children.

To me, working with kids is more challenging and at the same time a true privilege. I went on to complete my Pediatric Dentistry Residency at Stony Brook University Hospital, where I participated in teaching dental students, doing research and advancing my skills in children’s dental care.

Outside the Office

I enjoy cooking, taking care of my growing orchid collection, spending time with family and friends, traveling to warm tropical destinations and an occasional painting and drawing project in my down time.
